Amy Smart, an American actress and former model. Amy Smart was born and raised California USA began her modelling in Italy. Her first role as an actor was in the 1996 TV production Her Costly Affair. It was a struggle to land a small role for her in Starship Troopers. Amy had a difficult time making the switch from modeling to acting because models are not usually considered to be actors of any kind. Models are often only given minor roles that aren't important. Amy was never discouraged. Her first major role came in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. Amy later stepped into lead roles in 2005's romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major film at the box office and Amy had finally found the recognition that she was striving for for over a decade. Amy was in several big movies within the Crank trilogy opposite Jason Statham. And she also played a recurring role in the Shameless series.
